Penny Ann Budgen

Life Coach, Oxford

Hello, I’m Penny Budgen,
life coach and mentor, based in Oxfordshire. I can help you find what you really want and how best to achieve it.

Throughout my working life as headteacher of my own early years schools, as a Probation Officer and Restorative Justice practitioner and as a Life Coach, I have come to realise that the key to successfully handling many of life’s challenges and changes is to have confidence in our own good judgement and our capacity to apply and adapt ourselves creatively.

I can help you find what really matters to you, to get clarity and prioritise, to engage your own strengths and resourcefulness, to negotiate any obstacles and choose your best steps forward…with confidence.

TARGETED COACHING

For those times when specific issues, in the workplace and/or at home, need speedy, best choices resolution. Using the coaching process, I can help you focus on what you want, explore the issue and its context, open up options and help you to prioritise your best ways forward, all much more quickly than trying to do it on your own!

CRISIS MANAGEMENT

When things come at us ‘out of the blue’ we need clarity and objectivity to make the best decisions and solutions. In my experience, practical coaching provides the best process to achieve all this.

PROBLEM SOLVING

When we need to open up our options, analyse, prioritise and strategise. The solution- focussed coaching process lends itself to all problem-solving.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

When you know you are ready to move forward in life, personally and/or at work, and want to take charge of your next steps in the best possible way, I can help you explore where you are right now, what matters most to you, where you’ve been, what skills you already have and what your best options are, that fit with your values and goals and maximise success.

RELATIONSHIPS

The coaching process helps us look at situations, ourselves and our relationships objectively. This allows us to see things in perspective and in a broader context. From this vantage point, it’s much easier to understand and accommodate different points of view and to manage our own, according to what matters most to us and what we want to achieve/change.

Working Together

The Process

THE PROCESS

Working collaboratively via Zoom or over the phone, we explore your reality, what you want to achieve, where you are right now, what you’ve already done, what might be holding you back, and what are your best options to move forward. The Coaching process works as well for single, speedy focussed sessions as it does for any series of sessions.

What To Expect

WHAT TO EXPECT

As a professional life coach, I am certified and accredited by the Association for Coaching. My coaching focuses on the positive, the personal and the present. Unlike some other forms of client-centred support, that can dwell on what’s gone ‘wrong’, my approach is dynamic, facilitative, and evidence-based. I strive to encourage and inspire you with your own experience and resourcefulness!

Through each session, you’ll find strength and confidence in your own will-power to deal with any barriers you’ve maybe seen as insurmountable. Making hard choices is always easier when you’re working with someone who’s rooting solely for YOU.

The Outcome

THE OUTCOME

Working with me, you will find new direction, make decisions and negotiate problems, in the best possible way for you. The whole process is designed to work with your unique needs and circumstances, which ensures solutions and strategies are sustainable and effective.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Not sure if coaching is for you? Here are some answers to popular Life Coaching questions.

How much does coaching cost?

A session lasting a maximum of one and a half hours is £80.

How can I justify the cost?
By having an initial chat with me you can make sure coaching is for you and so worth doing. The key thing about coaching is that its practical, process-driven and solution focussed. A good coach works with what the client really wants and knows about themselves and facilitates their best moves in the best way for them, quickly!
Is Life Coaching for me?
Let’s look at what coaching isn’t. It is NOT therapy, counselling, mentoring, consultancy or treatment. If you want to be in charge of what happens next in your life and are looking for someone to motivate, encourage and help you find what YOU want, faster than doing so alone, then coaching is for you.
What kind of people do you work with?
Anyone who decides they want coaching, for example:

  • If they want to change direction or approach
  • If they want to find clarity and prioritise
  • If they have difficult choices to make
  • If they want support through hard times
